60 years of Ford Mustang

At Friends Fest, we will celebrate 60 years since the creation of the legendary Ford Mustang.

Ford Mustang is a sports car produced by the Ford Motor Company. It was initially based on the Ford Falcon. Production of the car began on March 9, 1964 in Dearborn, Michigan and was presented to the public on April 17, 1964 in New York. It was the most successful Ford since the Model A. The name was created by John Najjar after the North American aircraft P-51 Mustang. From 1967 to 1969, the peak version of the Shelby Mustang GT 500 was being produced. The Mustang's tremendous success led to the birth of a new class of vehicles – pony cars, compact performance coupes with a long front hood and a short rear. This is how other cars were born, such as the Chevrolet Camaro, AMC Javelin or Plymouth Barracuda. The Mustang also inspired some coupes, such as the Toyota Celica and the Ford Capri. Ford Mustang has appeared in a number of films. It played a significant role in the film The Bullitt case. Detective Bullitt, played by Steve McQueen, chases the killers in his green Ford Mustang GT 390 Fastback.
