Indian – A Legend of American Motorcycles

Indian is an iconic American motorcycle brand, manufactured by Indian Motorcycle International, LLC. The company was founded in 1901 by George Mallory Hendee and Oscar Hedstrom in Springfield, Massachusetts, originally under the name Hendee Manufacturing Company.

Indian was one of the very first motorcycle manufacturers in the United States and quickly became one of the largest motorcycle producers in the world. The brand gained fame through its powerful machines featuring large-displacement V-twin engines with SV valve timing and a characteristically low rider seating position, which remains a signature element of Indian motorcycles to this day.
